Young agricultural producers as well as those interested in the agriculture industry are invited to attend Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s 2003 Young Farmers & Ranchers Winter Conference which will be held Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 in Shawnee.
Geared toward establishing a connection with other young people in the business, the three-day conference will focus on fun, fellowship and agriculture.
Young farmers and ranchers will discuss agricultural ideas, learn about YF&R state and national contests, tour Shawnee agricultural areas, and be briefed on legislative information regarding agriculture.
In addition, door prizes and entertainment are planned for the event.
As in the past, Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Public Policy and Field Services Divisions will give away a free trip to Washington, D.C. for the Congressional Action Tour in April.
Chuck Tolle, a wheat producer from Deer Creek, urges all young farmers and ranchers interested in attending to give it a try.
“Come meet with other young farmers and ranchers and see what all Shawnee has to offer,” said Tolle, who, along with his wife, Francie, chairs the state YF&R Committee.
The Winter Conference will be held at the Ramada Inn, I-40 & Hwy 18, in Shawnee.
Registration begins Jan. 31 at noon. For more information or to preregister, please contact YF&R Coordinator Marcia Irvin at (405) 523-2405. Babysitting is available.
