Donna VonTungeln of Calumet was re-elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of Oklahoma Farm Bureau Nov. 10, 2007.
VonTungeln won re-election to the state director’s position in a caucus held during the 66th annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau meeting at Oklahoma City’s Cox Convention Center.
Delegates from a seven-county area picked VonTungeln. She will represent Farm Bureau members from Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Grady, Kingfisher, Logan and Oklahoma counties as the district three state director.
VonTungeln, 75, runs a 1,000-acre farm with her children. Wheat, cattle, alfalfa and soybeans are the primary enterprises on the operation. The family has operated the farm for more than 100 years.
VonTungeln is a 1949 graduate of El Reno High School and earned a bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University in 1953. She earned a master’s degree in 1970 from the University of Central Oklahoma.
She has been active in the Canadian County Farm Bureau, where she has served on both the board of directors and the county Women’s Committee.
VonTungeln has served on the Canadian County Excise and Equalization Board, the county Health Board and United Way. She has been involved extensively with historic Fort Reno and has served on the El Reno Chamber of Commerce and State Chamber of Commerce.
