Rural women leaders from across the state will be gathering in Norman Dec. 5-6 for the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Rally. The conference will be held at the Sooner Legends Inns and Suites.
“This is an educational as well as a social opportunity for rural women,” said Clara Wichert, Fairview, Chairperson of the OFB Women’s Committee.
Following a kick-off luncheon on Friday there will be a series of mini sessions on health care, public policy and media relations. The sessions continue Saturday morning and will include Agriculture in the Classroom, farm safety and photography.
Wichert encourages women interested in rural and agricultural leadership to attend the conference.
“Women are playing an ever-increasing role in leading our rural areas,” Wichert said, “and this is an excellent chance for them to expand their skills.”
More than 200 rural leaders are expected to participate in the conference. For registration information, contact Marcia Irvin, OFB Women’s Committee Coordinator, (405) 523-2405.
