Over the last few weeks, Oklahoma Farm Bureau members gathered within their districts for the organization’s annual August Area Meetings across the state. Signifying the beginning of the OKFB grassroots policy development process, members were able to share issues they are facing within their local communities and ask questions about OKFB policy on a variety of topics. Register for YF&R Discussion Meet by Nov. 1
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers will host its annual discussion meet at the organization’s annual convention Nov. 8, 2019 in downtown Oklahoma City. The discussion meet is designed to replicate a committee meeting in which all participants are expected to discuss and actively contribute. Participants are evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic in three rounds of debate-style discussion. Each year, Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers recognize members for their achievements through several awards presented at the OKFB Annual Meeting to be held Nov. 8-10, 2019 in downtown Oklahoma City. OKFB YF&R members are encouraged to apply for the awards, due to the home office by Oct. 1. Inaugural YF&R Shotgun Shoot to be held Sept. 21
Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers will host its first YF&R Shotgun Shoot on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Quail Ridge in McLoud, Oklahoma. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, which focuses on educating Oklahomans about the important role agriculture plays in our everyday lives. Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m. with shooting beginning at 9 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served to all participants. Trade show booths available at OKFB annual meeting in November
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is now offering trade show booth space to vendors at its annual convention Nov. 8-10 in Oklahoma City. The event is an opportunity to interact with agricultural producers from across the state. The OKFB Expo will be held Friday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City. YF&R to host annual State Fair livestock judging contest Sept. 12
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee will host students from across the state at the group’s annual Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest on Sept. 12 at the state fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 12 in Barn 3. The contest will begin at 10 a.m. in Barn 8. Contestants may compete on a team or as individuals. Oklahoma Farm Bureau members are invited to share agriculture with students in their communities by participating in “Read an Accurate Ag Book Day” on Sept. 6, 2019. Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom invites agriculture leaders across the state to join in the celebration and help ensure young students across the state understand the importance of agriculture in their daily lives. Carroll returns to OKFB as membership, foundation for ag director
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has named Holly Carroll director of membership and OKFB Foundation for Agriculture. In her new position, Carroll will work to promote membership and the benefits available to Oklahoma Farm Bureau members.
