Census response rates: How is rural Oklahoma doing?
In mid-March, the U.S. Census Bureau began its decennial count of the country’s population with the 2020 Census. Oklahoma historically has been undercounted in previous census counts, especially in rural areas. As of April 22, 46.7% of Oklahoma households have responded to the 2020 Census compared to the national rate of 51.8%. OKFB’s youth leadership conference canceled
To protect the health and safety of students, the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee has decided to cancel its Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture program. OKFB cancels 2020 ag tour to north central Oklahoma
With the health and safety of members in mind, Oklahoma Farm Bureau has opted to cancel the upcoming OKFB ag tour scheduled for May 6-8 to North Central Oklahoma. The annual three-day event is an opportunity for OKFB members to learn more about agriculture within the state, experience regional agribusinesses and industries, while offering ideas that can be applied to their own agricultural operation. OKFB applauds Secretary Arthur’s letter of support for beef producers
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is grateful for the work of Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur this week as she urged U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to provide relief for the state’s beef cattle producers. In a letter, Arthur asked Perdue to direct resources from the recent Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act to the beef cattle industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
