OKFB to host webinar with Gov. Stitt on cooperative sovereignty commission
Oklahoma Farm Bureau will host a live webinar on Monday, Aug. 3 featuring Gov. Kevin Stitt regarding the Oklahoma Commission on Cooperative Sovereignty, created to address concerns and make recommendations to the state and to Congress after the recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings in McGirt v. Custer County opens new satellite office in Weatherford
Custer County Farm Bureau officially opened the doors of its new satellite office in Weatherford on July 29. Now located at 1402 N. Washington, across the street from Weatherford High School, the new office will replace the old location at 510 E. Main. After breaking ground on the site Sept. 10, 2019, the Custer County Farm Bureau board members and insurance agents worked closely to create a space to better serve their members and the community. OKFB shares need for CFAP with Journal Record
Oklahoma farmers and ranchers would be in a dire situation without the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Rodd Moesel told the Journal Record in a recent story. “In Oklahoma, (CFAP) has probably helped even more than in some other places,” Moesel said in the story. “A lot of farmers would be in much worse shape without it.” Moesel explained that Oklahoma’s cattle producers experienced a drop of at least $100 per head in April after COVID-19 caused slowdowns in processing plants and disruptions to the supply chain. OKFB WLC awards four nurse’s training scholarships
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee has recently awarded four $500 scholarships to nursing students from across the state. Recipients of the scholarship include Kaitlyn Kilan, Medford; Samuel Langley, Pauls Valley; Myranda Oliva, Moore; and Michelle Tripp, Braman. Recipients will be attending universities including East Central University, Northern Oklahoma College, Western Governors University and Oklahoma City University. Members of the WLC recognize the significant role nurses play in ensuring a high quality of life for all Oklahomans, especially those in rural areas. OKFB applauds Stitt’s request to ensure consistent agricultural regulatory enforcement
Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Rodd Moesel released a statement today supporting Gov. Kevin Stitt’s recent request to the Environmental Protection Agency to apply an environmental regulation section of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act of 2005. Provisions in the act would allow the state of Oklahoma to continue its regulatory functions concerning environmental issues in light of the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in McGirt v.
