Due to the cancelation of this year’s in-person Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, members in districts 1, 4 and 7 will meet in-person on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to elect district representatives to the organization’s board of directors and the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee prior to the district gatherings. Oklahoma Farm Bureau helped support the state’s agriculture youth by purchasing $30,000 in premiums at the 2020 Tulsa State Fair Night of Champions Premium Sale. The Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College recently was awarded a mini-grant from the American Farm Bureau Federation. OKFB and Oklahoma 4-H launch new ATV training facility
Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Oklahoma 4-H have teamed up to establish the Oklahoma Farm Bureau/Oklahoma 4-H ATV Training Facility in an effort to combat the rise of off-road accidents across the state. Located on 25 acres near the Logan County Fairgrounds in Guthrie, ATV riders 10-years-old and above can participate in the program that covers basic safety techniques through a variety of exercises. The ATV RiderCourse consists of a two-hour online e-course at home, followed by a three-hour hands-on class instructed by licensed ATV Safety Institute instructors. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag Fund, the organization’s state-level political action committee, has endorsed 12 candidates and financially supported 52 candidates running for election in statewide, state Senate and state House races in 2020. Final deadline to complete 2020 Census now Oct. 5
Rural Oklahomans now have only four days left to be counted in the 2020 Census. The final deadline for self-responses to the 2020 Census has been pushed back to Oct. 5 following a recent federal court ruling. The U.S. Census Bureau’s deadline previously was set for Oct. 31, then moved up to Sept. 30 but was challenged in court.
