In spring 2018, parts of western Oklahoma were severely impacted by large wildfires that destroyed homes, farms, ranches and consumed hundreds of thousands of acres of pasture and cropland. The effects felt by our rural communities is enormous, and the path to rebuilding for our rural residents will require time, money and support.
As one part of the foundation’s fire relief efforts, we are proud to issue a matching challenge to Oklahoma’s 4-H clubs and FFA chapters to raise funds for rural volunteer fire departments located in the areas impacted by the Oklahoma springtime 2018 wildfires.
The Oklahoma Farming and Ranching foundation will match donations up to $1,000 with each 4-H club and FFA chapter that raises funds to be donated to Oklahoma rural volunteer fire departments located in areas affected by 2018 springtime wildfires in Oklahoma. We are proud to partner with our state’s agriculture youth to help our rural first responders who donate their hard work and care to protect farmers, ranchers and rural Oklahomans.
The Oklahoma Farming & Ranching Foundation board of directors has also issued a challenge to County Farm Bureaus to contribute their own matching funds to 4-H and FFA members’ fundraising efforts for wildfire relief.
4-H clubs and FFA chapters should complete the PDF form below and return it to the Oklahoma Farming & Ranching Foundation at the address at the bottom of the application. Applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet selection criteria before funds are distributed. Fund distribution is at the sole discretion of the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation.
