Oklahoma Farm Bureau to join in Arbuckle Simpson town hall meeting

August 14, 2014

Oklahoma Farm Bureau is pleased to announce it will be joining Sen. Frank Simpson for a town hall meeting on Aug. 22 to discuss the Arbuckle Simpson Aquifer and the use of its water in surrounding counties.

The town hall meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center in Ardmore. The meeting starts at 2:30 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity to discuss one of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s cornerstone issues of private property rights,” said John Collison, Oklahoma Farm Bureau vice president of public policy and media relations. “Oklahoma Farm Bureau members recognize the importance of the Arbuckle Simpson Aquifer to south-central Oklahoma and want this viable resource to be available for many years to come.”

Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s support of the aquifer is long-lived and includes passing SB 288, which ensured responsible use of the aquifer’s water.

The town hall meeting will present an opportunity to address certain issues and information regarding the aquifer.
