OKFB Women’s Leadership Team participating in Our Food Link

February 5, 2014

To recognize the outstanding efficiency and productivity of America’s farmers and ranchers, OKFB Women’s Leadership Team members commemorate Our Food Link, formerly Food Check-Out Day, each year. Our Food Link recognizes the farmer’s contribution to the affordability of food in the United States.

The event is held annually on the day of the year when, on average, Americans have earned enough income to pay for their yearly food supply. This year, the OKFB Women’s Leadership Team will be hosting their events on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, respectively.

To celebrate Our Food Link, the state OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donates $3,000 in food products to the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City and the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa. In addition, women from across the state donate food and funds to their local charities.

Also, this year, the state Women’s Leadership Team is cooking a meal for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City.
