Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Tom Buchanan recently announced his candidacy for vice president of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The election will be held during the AFBF Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show Jan. 8-13 in Orlando, Florida.
“If I am successful, I believe serving in that position will shine a light on the needs and concerns of Oklahomans,” Buchanan said. “It will definitely give Oklahoma a seat at the table.”
During his or her term, the AFBF vice president helps guide and direct the organization. Buchanan has served on the AFBF board of directors since 2013.
After serving on the OKFB board of directors for six years, Buchanan was elected president in 2013, and was re-elected to another term in November.
