The Tulsa World newspaper this morning is featuring an article covering how the U.S. federal government shutdown is affecting Oklahoma farmers and ranchers.
Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Rodd Moesel is quoted in the article, “There doesn’t seem to be too much kickback,” but notes that the longer the shutdown continues, the more likelihood there is that our state’s agriculturalists will feel a pinch. Moesel specifically cites as an example producers who are eligible to receive trade retaliation protection payments from the United States Department of Agriculture.
