Givens receives Farm Bureau Golden Eagle Award

November 13, 2015

Kerry Givens of Comanche County Receives the 2015 Golden Eagle AwardKerry Givens of Comanche County Farm Bureau was presented with the Golden Eagle Award Nov. 13 during the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 74th Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City.

The Golden Eagle award is presented each year to the individual or county who has worked to recruit the most new members throughout the year. These memberships are not based on insurance services, but instead are stand-alone members of the federation.

“The people we really go after are the ones that are involved in agriculture that maybe don’t belong to an organization such as Farm Bureau,” Givens said. “They’re actually recipients of things that Farm Bureau has done for many, many years and they don’t even know that.”

As the winner of the Gold Eagle Award, Givens received a traveling trophy and a personalized jacket.

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting is the organization’s largest gathering of farmers and ranchers every year. At the event, members vote on grassroots policy, elect leaders and award outstanding individuals. OKFB has a presence in all 77 Oklahoma counties and serves as the voice of agriculture and the rural way of life. To learn more, visit www.okfarmbureau.org.
