County Farm Bureaus across the state will celebrate and promote the grassroots organization during Farm Bureau Week held Feb. 19 through Feb. 23.
The weeklong celebration provides county Farm Bureaus an opportunity to promote the organization in local communities. Many county offices will host an open house to allow those interested in Farm Bureau to stop by and learn more about the organization.
Listed below are a few of the events held during Farm Bureau Week. To submit your county’s activities, please contact Hannah Davis.
Alfalfa County
Alfalfa County Farm Bureau will host a hamburger feed on Feb. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Cherokee office found at 113 S. Grand. The county also will hold a hamburger feed at the Helena Senior Citizen Center on Feb. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Caddo County
Caddo County Farm Bureau is offering a $10 discount on memberships during Farm Bureau Week. The county also will donate $500 to eight senior nutrition centers throughout the county, $100 to each 4-H and FFA chapter in the county, and will donate $250 to each fire department in the county.
Comanche County
Comanche County Farm Bureau will host an open house on Feb. 22 at the county office located at 502 SW 11th St. Suite B in Lawton. Join members for refreshments from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cotton County
Cotton County Farm Bureau will hand out free pulled pork sandwiches at its open house Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its office located at 125 N. Broadway in Walters.
Delaware County
Delaware County Farm Bureau will provide free hamburgers and hotdogs on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 pm at the county office located at 1205 S. Main in Jay. The county also will give away a $100 Visa gift card to a new member who signs up during Farm Bureau week. Drawing to be held Feb. 23.
Grant County
Grant County Farm Bureau will serve refreshments at its Farm Bureau Week open house Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its office located at 110 N. First St. in Medford.
Kingfisher County
Kingfisher County Farm Bureau will host a come-and-go luncheon for all county employees at the Kingfisher County Courthouse on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Major County
Major County Farm Bureau will host a book signing with Allison Regier, author of “Planes on the Plains,” on Feb. 22 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Major County Farm Bureau office located at 101 S. Main in Fairview.
Noble County
Noble County Farm Bureau will host an open house on Feb. 20 at the county office located at 521 N. 5th St. in Perry. Stop by the office between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for free hotdogs and hamburgers. The county also will deliver baked goods on Feb. 22 beginning at 10 a.m. to the local county offices including the police station, fire department and courthouse, and will present a basket of agriculture books to a Noble County educator.
Payne County
Payne County Farm Bureau will host an open house on Feb. 23rd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the office located at 4721 W. 6th Street in Stillwater. The county also will have daily drawings for local products and will hold a Facebook photo contest.
Pottawatomie County
Pottawatomie County Farm Bureau will host a Farm Bureau member appreciation day on Feb. 19, where they will serve free hamburgers and hot dogs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the county office located at 3301 N. Kickapoo Ave. in Shawnee.
Stephens County
In honor of Farm Bureau Week, Stephens County Farm Bureau will donate money to the teachers’ supply fund at two local schools on Feb. 23. The county also will cook hamburgers and hot dogs for livestock show exhibitors during the Stephens County Junior Livestock Show bonus sale at the Stephens County Fairgrounds on Feb. 23.
