Oklahoma Farm Bureau members ages 18 to 35 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of OKFB Young Farmers and Ranchers competitive events during the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 5-7. Applications for the YF&R competitive events, which include the Achievement Award, the Excellence in Agriculture Award, the Discussion Meet, the High School Discussion Meet and the Charles Roff Award can be found on the applications center page on the OKFB website. OKFB YF&R hosts state fair livestock judging contest
More than 1,300 students gathered at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds for the Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers on Sept. 16. Students from third through 12th grades in 4-H and FFA competed in market and breeding classes of beef cattle, swine, sheep and goats. Students in junior and senior age divisions evaluated each class and answered questions on two of the classes as individuals and as teams. OKFB YF&R shotgun shoot raises more than $11,000 to benefit foundation
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers raised more than $11,000 at their third-annual shotgun shoot held at Quail Ridge Shooting Sports near McLoud on August 28. The funds raised will benefit the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture, which seeks to connect consumers with accurate agriculture information as well supporting agriculture and rural communities in Oklahoma. OKFB YF&R to host State Fair Livestock Judging Contest Sept. 16
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee will sponsor the annual Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest on Sept. 16 at the state fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. With a junior and senior division, the contest will include market and breeding classes of beef cattle, sheep and swine. Students in third through seventh grades will be in the junior division and students in eighth through 12th grades will be in the senior division. YF&R members gather in southeast Oklahoma for summer conference
More than 50 members gathered near Broken Bow for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Summer Conference held July 30-31. The conference provided a chance for members to gather with fellow agricultural producers, experience agriculture in southeastern Oklahoma and learn about opportunities with YF&R and Farm Bureau. Much of the two-day event was dedicated to tours of various agricultural enterprises across southeast Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers is set to host their third annual shotgun shoot Aug. 28 at Quail Ridge Hunting and Sporting Clays in McLoud, Oklahoma. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, which strives to connect consumers of all ages with individuals who work daily to produce their food and fiber. Farm Bureau members ages 18 to 35 are invited to attend the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Summer Conference to be held July 30-31 in Broken Bow. The two-day conference will offer YF&R members the chance to meet farmers and ranchers from across the state, tour local agricultural facilities and learn more about YF&R leadership opportunities and programs. NEO A&M student awarded inaugural Collegiate Farm Bureau scholarship
Kalley Whitlock, a sophomore at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college, recently earned the inaugural Collegiate Farm Bureau scholarship presented by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee. Nine $1,000 scholarships awarded to high school seniors
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee has awarded nine $1,000 college scholarships to high school seniors.
