The OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donated $3,000 in food products to the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City and the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, as part of the new AFBF Our Food Link initiative. The members also cooked and served a meal for the families staying in the Oklahoma City location. Our Food Link is a year-round program that county and state Farm Bureaus use to provide consumers of all ages and backgrounds with information about today’s agriculture. To recognize the outstanding efficiency and productivity of America’s farmers and ranchers, OKFB Women’s Leadership Team members commemorate Our Food Link, formerly Food Check-Out Day, each year. Our Food Link recognizes the farmer’s contribution to the affordability of food in the United States. The event is held annually on the day of the year when, on average, Americans have earned enough income to pay for their yearly food supply. Rural Women Leaders To Meet In Norman Dec. 5-6
Rural women leaders from across the state will be gathering in Norman Dec. 5-6 for the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Rally. The conference will be held at the Sooner Legends Inns and Suites. “This is an educational as well as a social opportunity for rural women,” said Clara Wichert, Fairview, Chairperson of the OFB Women’s Committee. Following a kick-off luncheon on Friday there will be a series of mini sessions on health care, public policy and media relations.
