OKFB WLC members attend NAITC in Arizona
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee members attended the National Ag in the Classroom Conference called “Blooming in the Desert” June 20-24 in Litchfield Park, Arizona. During the conference, WLC members and more than 400 educations from around the country learned how to use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, science, social studies and more. On the Road with Ag in the Classroom
The Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom traveled to eastern Oklahoma for this year’s On the Road tour, June 14-16. On the tour, Oklahoma Farm Bureau joined teachers from around the state to learn more about agriculture and its impact in Oklahoma. The tour began with a stop at Dismukes’ Cattle Ranch in Checotah, where educators learned about the health benefits of eating beef. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its second-annual safety day June 3 at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee will hold their annual Youth Safety Day on Friday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City. The 2016 Youth Safety Day will host students grades 5-9 from across the state of Oklahoma and offer an array of safety lessons related to everyday life. OKFB to host Flapjack Fundraiser at annual meeting
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is proud to host the Flapjack Fundraiser at its annual meeting on Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in the Cox Convention Center. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Bushels for Books Program, a partnership between the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation and the OKFB Young Farmers and Ranchers. The program will provide bushel baskets full of accurate agriculture books to teachers from five Oklahoma schools. The application deadline is drawing near for Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee’s Farm Family of the Year award, which recognizes a top farm and ranch family in rural Oklahoma. Applications from around the state must be submitted by July 31. Once applications from around Oklahoma are collected, a farm family from each of the nine OKFB districts will be chosen to represent their region at the OKFB annual meeting in Oklahoma City.
