Oklahoma Farm Bureau presented Sequoyah County with the Lewis H. Munn Farm Bureau Builders Award during the OKFB 74th Annual Convention on Nov. 13 in Oklahoma City. Charlie Coblentz of Mayes County was named the 2015 Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet winner at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 74th Annual Meeting Nov. 13 in Oklahoma City. Coblentz competed against five other participants in three rounds of debate-style discussion where performance was evaluated on the exchange of ideas and information on pre-determined topics. Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Comanche County Young Farmers and Ranchers committee is the 2015 recipient of the Charles L. Roff Award. The award was presented in Oklahoma City at the OKFB 74th Annual Meeting Nov. 13. The Charles L. Piper Merritt of Owasso, Oklahoma, was the winner of the high school discussion meet held by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers. Oklahoma Farm Bureau volunteers to host Ten Commandments monument
Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies today offered to host Oklahoma’s Ten Commandments monument at its home office near the state Capitol at 2501 N. Stiles Ave. in Oklahoma City. The nonpartisan organization extended the offer to Gov. Mary Fallin, Attorney General Scott Pruitt and state Rep. Students participate in state livestock judging contest
More than 900 students participated in the Sept. 17 Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest, sponsored by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers. Contest participants analyzed classes of beef, goats, sheep and swine and ranked the animals based on correct market characteristics. “It’s such a good thing for the kids,” said Zac Harris, state YF&R chairman. “It’s also a good thing for Farm Bureau, too.
