OKFB YF&R members visit Enid during annual conference
More than 50 young agriculturalists gathered in Enid for the two-day Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers conference July 8-9. The Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation hosted a Right to Farm Training for the Oklahoma Agri-Women June 23 at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City. Members of Oklahoma Agri-Women were instructed on a variety of talking points when advocating for State Question 777. The training also addressed several media tips, including social media. OKFB WLC members attend NAITC in Arizona
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee members attended the National Ag in the Classroom Conference called “Blooming in the Desert” June 20-24 in Litchfield Park, Arizona. During the conference, WLC members and more than 400 educations from around the country learned how to use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, science, social studies and more. NAITCO, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute for Food & Agriculture and Arizona Foundation for Agricultural Literacy, held three days of workshops that showed kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers how to use agriculture to teach core subject areas. OKFB to host “Get on Tap with 777”
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to host “Get on Tap with 777” June 30 at 5 p.m. at TapWerk’s Ale House in Oklahoma City. At the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about State Question 777, or the Right to Farm bill. Guests will enjoy free appetizers and drinks. The event will also collect items of fresh produce to be donated to the City Rescue Mission. Nineteen of Oklahoma’s top 20 high school seniors spent three days learning about leadership, team building and agriculture at the fifth annual Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture conference, June 15-17, in Oklahoma City. On the Road with Ag in the Classroom
The Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom traveled to eastern Oklahoma for this year’s On the Road tour, June 14-16. On the tour, Oklahoma Farm Bureau joined teachers from around the state to learn more about agriculture and its impact in Oklahoma. The tour began with a stop at Dismukes’ Cattle Ranch in Checotah, where educators learned about the health benefits of eating beef. The group then traveled to the Greenleaf Nursery in Park Hill to tour their greenhouses. Educators learned the nursery covers 570 acres of land. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its second-annual safety day June 3 at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City.
