Farm Bureau leaders from across the state gathered to discuss policy for agriculture and rural Oklahoma during the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legislative Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City March 6-7. The two-day conference gave Farm Bureau members an opportunity to learn about statewide policy issues and visit with state leaders and legislators. ‘Get Out of My Space’ theme promoted during Agricultural Safety Awareness Program Week
Farm Bureaus across the nation are recognizing Agricultural Safety Awareness Program Week (March 5-11) by encouraging respect for spaces around farm equipment and tasks. “Get Out of My Space!” is the theme of the week, noted Kalena Bruce, chair of the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee. Blaine County Farm Bureau offering two $2,000 scholarships
Blaine County Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for two $2,000 scholarships for students attending Watonga, Geary, Okeene or Canton public schools who plan to pursue a higher education degree in agriculture after graduation. Students applying for the scholarship must be a graduating high school senior, must have a 2.5 GPA or better, and must enroll full-time in an agriculture program at an accredited Oklahoma institution of high learning. President Donald Trump today issued an executive order calling on the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to overhaul the Obama administration’s overreaching Waters of the U.S. rule. OKFB to dedicate commemorative courtyard March 7
Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently announced the celebration of the organization’s 75th anniversary in 2017. To commemorate this milestone, OKFB is dedicating a new plaza Tuesday, March 7, at 12 p.m. The ceremony will take place on the southeast side of the home office after the adjournment of the Legislative Leadership Conference. Members will enjoy a short presentation followed by a light lunch and refreshments. With 95,000 members statewide, Oklahoma Farm Bureau is connected to County Farm Bureaus in all 77 Oklahoma counties. OKFB YF&R scholarship application now available
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is now accepting applications for their annual $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors who will pursue a higher degree in agriculture after graduation. Nine $1,000 scholarships, one from each OKFB state board district, will be awarded to high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture at an Oklahoma institution of high learning as a full-time student. The U.S. Senate today voted 52-46 in favor of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
