Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Tom Buchanan issued the following statement in response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement to repeal the Waters of the U.S. rule. OKFB WLC Nurse’s Scholarship July 15 deadline approaching
The deadline for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee’s Nurse’s Scholarship is July 15. The annual scholarship program awards three $500 scholarships to students studying nursing at an accredited college, university, vo-tech or trade school. Applicants must be Oklahoma Farm Bureau members or a member of a Farm Bureau member family. State legislators honored with 2017 OKFB 100 Percent Club

Irvin named senior director of membership and organization
Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently promoted Marcia Irvin to senior director of membership and organization. OKFB names senior directors of communications
Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently named Dustin Mielke and Hannah Nemecek as senior directors of communications. “As the voice of Oklahoma agriculture, communicating with members and the public is critical to the success of Farm Bureau,” said Monica Wilke, OKFB executive director. “Dustin and Hannah have done a tremendous job, and will continue to do so as they work to enhance our various communications efforts.” Mielke was promoted to senior director of corporate communications. High school seniors selected to attend OYLA conference
Twelve high school seniors from across the state were recently selected to attend the Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture conference June 14-16. The OYLA conference is a three-day annual event hosted by Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers & Ranchers to prepare high school students for a future career in agriculture and to advance youth leadership. Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers state committee member Mindi Clark of Byron, Okla., was recently recognized as a Significant Woman in Oklahoma Agriculture by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry and Oklahoma State University.
