2014 Farm Bill forums scheduled

March 18, 2014

The Southwest Council of Agribusiness has joined with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service and the Texas A&M Agricultural and Food Policy Center to host informational forums focused on educating producers and other stakeholders about the approaching changes to farm policy under the Agricultural Act of 2014.

The schedules for the two events are:

Altus – Monday, March 24

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Western Oklahoma State College multipurpose room

  • 9:00 – 9:30 – Coffee and doughnuts
  • 9:30 – 9:45 – Welcome and Special Introductions • Hon. Larry Combest – Former Chairman, House Agriculture Committee
  • 9:45 – 10:45 – Understanding the Farm Safety Net • George Knapek; Program Director, Agricultural and Food Policy Center
  • 10:45 – 11:45 – Q&A with Dr. Knapek and regional commodity leaders • Including Bart Fischer, Chief Economist, House Agriculture Committee
  • 11:45 – 1:00 – Luncheon Speaker, “Perspectives on the 2014 Farm Bill” • Tom Sell; Combest, Sell and Associates

Enid – Tuesday, March 25
