There are more than 1,000 Farm Bureau members in Ottawa County.  Those members support the Ottawa County Fair, offer a scholarship program for agriculture students and host an annual legislative dinner among other activities.

In Ottawa County, agriculture is the number one industry.  Grain crops are grown with a major portion of the wheat ground double-cropped backed to soybeans. Crops that are grown include soybeans, wheat, milo, corn, canola and fescue seed. We also produce pecans and mushrooms. In livestock production, we have cow-calf, stocker cattle, chicken, turkey and dairy operations.

Ottawa County is famous for being the home of baseball player Mickey Mantle and the modern headquarters for the Nine Native American Tribes and Nations.
