Grady County Farm Bureau prides itself in the active role it plays in supporting the youth of the county. Some events they sponsor are the buyer’s supper at the Grady County Spring Livestock Show, the Grand & Reserve Grand Champions at the Grady County Fair and a scholarship to one graduating senior.
The top commodities in Grady County are beef cattle, alfalfa hay, wheat and dairy cattle.
Grady county hosts many events throughout the year that draw a number of tourists, such as the Festival of Lights held each December at the Shannon Spring Park in Chickasha, the Braum’s Dairy and Annual Ice Cream Festival in Tuttle, the Watermelon Festival In Rush Springs and the Minco Honey Festival.
Grady County is home to 47 miles of The Old Chisholm Trail, the Washita Valley Golf Tournament, and Florence C (FC) Hall, the original owner of the Winnie Mae, named after his daughter. The Winnie Mae was piloted by Wiley Post and later flown solo by Post for a record setting around the world flight. The flight time was 7 days, 18 hours and 49.5 minutes.
